Dinner in Louisville, Breakfast in London

As most of you already know, I'll be spending this Fall semester studying in Greece.

Although my classes don't start until mid September, I decided that adventuring alone in a foreign country for nearly three weeks sounded like a lot of fun - so here I sit, in transit to Athens, enjoying an English breakfast in London.

Usually I hate airports and commercial flight in general, but the past few hours have changed my opinion on both. I've met people from Georgia (the one the Russians invaded, not the one with sweet tea), Holland, England, Scotland, and France, and all have been alot of fun to talk to. It seems, however, that airport etiquette puts disclosing your name in the 'optional' category. Single serving friends, I suppose.

I still don't think my head has caught up with my body - it hasn't sunk in that I'm in Europe yet. All the shops and restaurants in Heathrow accept American money - I don't think it will entirely sink in until someone looks at me funny for trying to pay in dollars instead of Euros.

I hope you guys enjoy the photos I'll inevitably upload in excess. Reading the text is purely optional ;)

Photos : top left is the Thames River in London on approach to Heathrow
Top right is my Scottish scrambled eggs and smoked salmon breakfast (the Scottish know their stuff when it comes to a delicious breakfast!)
Middle Left: the clouds that are making your day dreary gave me an entertaining view for most of the flight to Chicago.
Middle Right: that's my ride around London.. in a dream I once had.
Bottom: My last view of Louisville until January!
